Where do I even begin with this day! A friend asked me about this wedding randomly last night! Their gallery was the type of gallery that sticks in anyone’s brain. You can feel the love and see the glow through every moment. I was really proud of how the photos turned out.
Betsy and I have a mutual best friend, but we had never met. She also grew up across the street from my boyfriend, so there were a lot of interconnected relationships happening that made this day extra sweet. Her and Reed knew they wanted to marry each other from the very beginning, so it didn’t take long for Reed to propose. Neither one of them wanted to wait to be able to call each other husband and wife. When Betsy and I first talked about their dream for this wedding, I felt inspired. They wanted their day to be full of Jesus, peace, and family. And that’s exactly what they got…plus some bonuses!
St. Thomas is somewhere special to them, and there was no question they wanted to get married there. We took pictures around the Westin property and then hopped on a catamaran ride for their sunset ceremony. The boat mates served cocktail hour drinks and hors d’oeuvres as we sailed through the waters. It had rained off and on that morning, causing a little bit of nerves, but everything had that post-rain glow. Makes for gorgeous. There was even a rainbow in the sky. There was no real plan or timeline. The Captain pulled into a cove when the sun was starting to set. Betsy and her dad walked from the front to the back of the boat to meet Reed and their pastor.
The entire ceremony, the entire sky glowed orange and gold. It was seriously so stunning!!! God was absolutely smiling down on this day. There wasn’t a dry eye, and everyone was SO excited when Reed kissed his new wife. The rest of the boat ride was full of cheers and FaceTime calls to grandparents.
Betsy perfected the simple elegance look. Her dress was from Revolve. Her flowers made by the resort, and spruced up by her mom. She did her own hair and makeup in the comfort of her hotel room. She had letters and thoughtful gifts to give her dad and the mothers.
Now that I have stayed friends with the sweet couple, I love hearing them talk about how their day was simply perfect. And I still drool over these photos!!!
